Exchange downlevel SMTP connector migration

Also works for 2007, etc.

1. Login to Exchange Management Console on Exch2010 server
2. Expand Server Configuration and select Hub Transport
3. Select your Exch2010 server and in the Receive connectors area below, right click and select New Receive Connector...
4. Enter the name as Exch 2013 Receive Mail and set the type as Custom and click Next
5. I left the Local Network Settings as (All Available IPv4) and Port 25 and enter the FQDN as the name of my Exch2010 server e.g. exch2010.domain.com and click Next
6. On the Remote Network settings page select 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255 and click the red cross to remove the entry
7. Click Add.. and enter the IPv4 address of your Exch2013 server and click OK and Next
8. Click New and Finish
9. Right click on the new receive connector and select Properties
10. Select Authentication and untick everything except Exchange Server authentication
11. Select Permission Groups and untick everything except Anonymous users and click Apply and OK
12. On Exch2010, open Services.msc and locate the Microsoft Exchange Transport Service and restart it
